| Yep you screwed up! Never ever shoot the donor rifle. I've got one coming in a few weeks that I'm going to have to tear apart as soon as it arrives. Then I've got one I'm going to put back in the stock and see if it shoots. |

| I Think I was on the right track. A bolt out of a 7mm Rem. Mag will fit in my Remington 700 30/06 and 300 H&H fits the bolt face of the 7mm Rem. Mag bolt.So I'm thinking all I need is just to have a Remington 700 30/06 rebarreled and chambered to 300 H&H and have it head spaced to the 7mm Rem. Mag bolt. |

The H&H is a longer cartridge than the 7mm RM. Plus since your rifle is a .30-06 the magazine is too short as well for the H&H but will work fine if you went .300 Win Mag. You might have to do some work to make it feed as well. The cheaper option would have been to find a Remington M700/721 in .300 H&H already and do some cosmetic touches to finish the rifle up. |
