Has anyone here used a fixed-power 1x scope (or a variable set to 1x) other than a Scout scope? If so, what was it and how did you like it? What do you think of it as a dangerous game sight? Thanks in advance, Okie John.
I have a 1X Weaver for a Drilling. It has regular crosshairs and I have used it at some Crazy Quail shoots and done well with it.
It has claw mounts for the gun. I don't use the scope for hunting however. I can shoot about as well with irons as with that scope and it just adds weight.
I put a V3 Weaver on my .35 Marlin and I'm quite happy with it. I found the 1x setting with both eyes open was very quick on target and I still had full depth perception. No batteries to go dead like on a red dot and more precise too. The closest thing to dangerous game I'm likely to face is a wild boar but I'd use this in a heart beat.
I have used the Weaver 1X, with success...It works fine on a DGR....The fact that the front sight and barrel shows up in the scope sorta disturbs me, but I handled it....
there are better options in the 1.5x5 and 1x4 varibles I believe.
