^^^This.. Any .308 cup and core bullet will get it done on deer. Just use the most available, affordable one that shoots well. Even an SST will drop a deer reliably as long as you arent a shoulder shooter. And they are a notch above the SP design for accuracy. I do think BT's are considerably tougher though.
