Does anyone have the article or chapter from a book where Jack O'C specifically discussed the 270/7RM/3006/300WM as a quartet? I read that once, thirty years ago and it had pictures of recoil included. +-+-+-+-+-+-+ "A well-rounded hunting battery might include: 500 AccRel Nyati, 416 Rigby or 416 Ruger, 375Ruger or 338WM, 308 or 270, 243, 223" -- Conserving creation, hunting the harvest.

Got rid of my 7mm Rm several years ago, made some of the most spectacular shots in my life with that rifle, but just decided I didnt really need all that horsepower. So I am working with this 7X57 I built, loving it, but I do believe that the 280 Rem is probably my favorite round on the planet. SO once in a while I consider the fact that all I would need is a reamer, already have the dies, brass, headspace gages.. BUT! The results I am getting with this amazing, antiquated little 57mm round is so damn good that there really is no point.. Then I see this M-70 270 W in pristine condition for a smoking deal. Yes, it followed me home.. What's not to like? Sometimes I still look at the old 7mm RM brass I still have and go Hmmm.. Screw it, Im going hunting.. 270 will run with a 7RM until you hit ~150 gr.
