Anybody got any ballistics on this cartridge (a necked up .300 or .325 WSM)? Loads, bullets, velocities, etc.? Anything would be greatly appreciated.

Should be almost identicle to 358 Norma. Bullets might take up more space in WSM case. I would call up a few bullet companies and ask for recommendations. At least a couple bullet companies list data in their manuals for 358 Norma. The Norma is basically just a 338 win mag necked up to 35cal. I read win didn't do the 338wsm because of bullet length problems in the short action. Matt FISH!! Should run about 2/3 the way between a 35 Whelen and a 358 Norma. 225 gr @ 2900 fps 250 gr @ 2700 fps

I don't a WSM anything, but I believe this is known as the 35 Sambar in Australia and seems quite popular there. Perhaps do an Internet search for 35 Sambar would reveal loading data. I believe whelenite is pretty darn close to the powder capacity for the 35 WSM/35 Sambar case. I personally believe the powder capacity will be somewhere in the 2/3-3/4 percent range between the 35 Whelen and the 358 NormaMag... Jim "Life's hard; it's harder if you're stupid" John Wayne

this would have a very similar case capacity as a 358 Norma. Probably within 10 percent. This is what we have seen from from other Wildcats on the same cases. Recall that the 358 Norma is not a full length 375 H&H case 0 opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? I think the hammer in this class may have been Bieb's 9.3/8mm Mag. 286gr @ 2800 fps would put this puppy in the shade...not that this isn't enough for anything in North America.

And it's available! $5,600 rifle for $2,000 shipped! Just open 8mm Rem Brass from .323 to .366 and load 'em up. It's the one in the red McSwirley stock. The other is in 9.3 BS(Barsness-Sisk); a 350 Rem Mag opened to .966...about like 9.3x62 ballistics.

If you did it on a intermediate mauser like a yugo 24/47 you could seat the bullet out and gain some powder space. I did this with a 358win and it seemed to handle 250gr bullets better. Steve

Biebs: I'm a bit colour blind, but it still looks purple to me. By the way, I picked up your rifle today and it looks awesome - colour blind or not. Much better than described. Thanks and it was a pleasure doing business with you. I'll let you know how it does on the range and in Tanzania.
