I have been shooting H4350 under a Hornady 250gr SP for a couple years now. It is a legit. 1moa load. Recently my favorite 210grNP load has been slipping so I thought I would try H4350 under the 210gr NP. The only manual that even tries this powder w/ the lighter bullets is Speer. So off to the range I went & wow, sub moa groups & good vel. w/ very low pressure signs. Best of all, the 210gr load @ 2750fps has the same poi as the 250gr load @ 2450fps. I'm in heaven again. Thanks Fred. I'm getting great groups with the Barnes 185 TSX and N150,vel around 3000 fps. This powder also work well with 225 Accubonds at 2700.Have you tried it?

I gave it a try awhile back & accuracy was just so-so, not bad but not great. THis rifle is very, very picky so I hope this load w/ H4350 holds up. This rifle ahs seldom put rounds touching but it ha always been dependable, 1st round always lands where it's supposed to hot or cold, clean or dirty bbl. BTW Rob, don't you shoot a .260" VV150 is just awsome w/ the lighter bullet 85-108gr, very uniform. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!

fredj338, I too have been using H4350 (AR 2209) in Australia in my 338-06 with both 200 and 250's. Had no trouble getting 2450 fps with the 250's either with 56 grains and 2650 with the 200's using 58 grains. Neither of these are max in my rifle, but they shoot really well. My 338-06 is a Pre-64 action with a 26" Lilja #5 fluted stainless barrel. Recently tried N540 with 250 Matchkings, 51 grains of it, haven't chronographed it yet, but it shoots like you wouldn't believe, 3 shots into about .4, I'm happy! A mate of mine has a douglas barreled 338-06, also 26" on a 700 action, using the same loads as me, he is consistently about 70-100 fps below my chronographed loads, must just be the difference in smoothness of the barrels and chamber dimensions I expect? Anyone else got any good 338-06 loads? How about with 275 Speers? H&H Mad.

brianbo, as usuall, I accept no responsability for this load info. blah, blah, blah. My load is 62.5gr of H4350 in Norma cases & CCIBR2 primers, topped w/ the 210grNP. I get 2750fps form my 22.5"bbl. @ 82deg/4000ft. Speer calls for 63gr under the 200grSP & that's about all you can get in the case. On two very windy days I have managed submoa groups and like I said, this rifle is very picky. h&h, I may give VV540 a try, just wish it didn't come in 2# cans as it's pricey if you don't like it. I use 58.5gr of H4350 under the 250gr Hornady, very accurate & expands to over .50cal & penetrates 20"+ in wetpack. http://www.hodgdon.com/data/rifle/33806.php Rob, sorry, thought I read on a thread you shot a .260, good caliber BTW. Fred, My rifle is not as picky as yours evidently... It shoots everything about the same, which is very good for that bore ( I spend a lot of time shooting varmint weight stuff)... However my best accuracy in mine has been with H 380! I don't ask questions, but just use what worked best.... It did substantially better than H 4350 in mine..... W 748 also gets real honorable mentioning! cheers seafire

I've had very good velocity and accuracy using Varget with the 210 Nosler in my 338-06 AI. I do have a jug of H380 here, but haven't gotten around to working out any loads. The way Varget is performing, I haven't needed or wanted to. ============================== "I'd love to be the one to disappoint you when I don't fall down" --Fred Durst

I tried Varget & was less than impressed w/ accuracy, like I said, my rifle is very picky. Some day I may rebarrel it w/ a fine PacNor bbl. The other rifles so barreled, are very foregiving w/ many diff. loads. LIFE IS NOT A SPECTATOR'S SPORT!
