Anybody have a Savage 110BA in .300 Win Mag or .338 Lapua? How do you like it?

My son thinks we need a long range gun.

I have a Savage 110 in .300 Winchester Mag.
For a long range gun that does not break the bank
it is alot of gun for the money.
Out of the box accuracy is very good even with a cheap bushnel 3x9 scope. it shoots less than 1 inch groups at 100 meters. very good for the money.
The downside of the Savage 110 is is is quite heavy to lug around. If you were going to hunt out of Blind it would be ok. But for any type of walking around it gets heavy fast.

Dave, I have a Savage 110FP in 223. Extremely accurate, quite heavy. However, one aspect of the Savage which I have not utilized (yet), is the ability to change barrels and headspace relatively easily. This aspect of the Savage has me intrigued and is something you might want to look into. Depending on the bolt face, you get a two for one here!

I have a 116BSS in .300 Win Mag. It is a consistant MOA or less with almost everything I feed it. Shows a particular affinity for 180 grain Accubonds.
