Just saw your post... No mine are all regular triggers. Never even seen a set trigger model here in the states. Might be some, just haven't run into them.

The Sauer 202 it's an improved version of the old Sauer 200?
What differences?

I only have a pair of lowly 200's.

My first one I aquired in 1995 in 30/06 with a Swarowski 3x9 scope for $700.00. The dang thing shoots 2 factory loads under 1/2 an inch. The original 180 gr Failsafes and the 180 Light Magnums. I believe both are now discontinued.

I was ina shop in Kansas and the guy had a 200 for sale wanted a grand for one in 06. Well I already had one so I jokingly asked did he have any spare barrels for it. He replied he had some wierd metric caliber barel that no one even wanted to talk about. Long story short I took home a 9.3x62 barrel for $200. Big Grin

Last yeaer I was ina shop in Colorado Springs. They had another 200 but withthe facotry sights for $625 out the door so now i owned a 2nd 200. Smiler

Also managed to pick up a 6.5x55 swede barell somehwere in there at a gunshow for $250.

I love the bloddy guns and wish I could find more barels for a reasonable price. At one time the Paul brothers out of Wellington kansas were he importers. I am a knucklehead for not trading one of them for some barrels cheap when he offered them to me.

Apart from another safety system, the difference between the Sauer 200 and 202 lies in the stock design. Most parts, incl. bbls., do interchange.

For anyone on this message chain, I would like to sell an ANIB unfired Sauer 202 Classic in 30-06, with a new Zeiss Conquest 3x9x40 mounted and boresighted in Leupold QD rings. All accessories and papers for the rifle and original box and papers for the scope. $2500 would be a fair price if you have an interest, shipped to your FFL.

Ok you Sauer guys. Big Grin

When we were at Tip Burns one day my best friend bought one of these and although we havent shot it yet he believes it is the most accurate rifle going. And maybe it is.

So what am I going to have to shoot to beat it with my Winchester LRH going on the other post?

Yikes - saw some of those targets. Oh well!

All these are nice rifles.

PS - Are there any barrels for sale as I never see them?

Yes, spare barrels are sold indeed and only take a few minutes to install.
I have 2 for my 202 : .30-06 & 7x64.

I have a Sauer 202 Eligance in .243 (I know it is not medium bore) and I must agree with the the positive posts above. The rifle is extremely acurate with sub MOA frequently achieved using factory ammunition. The safety is totaly silent in use (to my ears anyhow) The rifle ballance is perfect for me as nearly all my shots are taken standing up position to clear the ground vegitation.

It's not a Highland I think.
It's an S202 Elegance with a heavy fluted (short) barrel in 9.3x62

I looked the Highland up on the Sauer website, and there are some differences with my rifle:
- Bolt is not fluted, but jewelled
- Metal surfaces are not polymer coated, but blued
- The receiver is steel

It is a beautiful gun whether it is a Highland or not and in my favorite caliber too. Big Grin

I wonder why Sauer would put a fluted barrel on a steel receiver? Confused Just for looks, I would guess.

Or for the balance? I normally wouldn't have chosen a heavy fluted barrel for a hunting rifle, but once I picked up the rifle, I was sold. It handles like a dream.

Nighthawk, At my age, I'm not easily impressed by rifles anymore, but that is one of the most gorgeous rifles I've seen. Wonderful set-up in a great caliber. Enjoy!
