Just what I needed to vanish the depressing views I have from my office ´s windows: glass, bricks and portland of some big buildings & hotels ... yeah lot of trees can also be seen , but it isn´t enough !!

Yah, even you Iceman (and your backhanded self compliment!) ...thanks for tripping the shutter on 4 of those pics above, and being the subject of one of them (the one with the Alpine Larch turning yellow).

Fallow Buck....he's a Chocolate Lab. The pack is a discontinued custom model (made by DogStuf, who is now out of business). He starts out a trip with mostly his own food, but as the trip goes on and the food gets eaten, my pack gets lighter, but his doesn't! In his prime he could pack up to 35 lbs. He'd probably average 25 to 30 lbs throughout a trip. One time, I stuffed a hindquarter (bone in) of a billy goat in each side of his pack, strapped a sleeping bag to the top and stuffed garbage in wherever there was a space. We then hiked out about 12kms to the truck...he looked like a mini-draught horse. I weighed his pack at home and it was just shy of 37lbs. Iceman was there too...packing his whole goat by himself, wishin' he had a packdog too.

My Chocolate Lab only carries stuff in his mouth...more sticks than birds!!

You're really lucky to have that country in your back yard....enjoy!!

I think Fallow Buck was refering to the spiff looking heeler cross on the top of the mountain when asking about the dog. And speaking of tough paws, she has put on a million miles during her 100 dog years traveling the wilds behind backpack or packstring with nary a scratch(and she is still going). My only regret was I never brought her on a northern sheep hunt. Now to figure out this scanner so I can add to your collection.

Those photos almost make a guy want to move to B.C.

If you end up moving to B.C., and you meet 'The Iceman' .. and he tells you that he is a legend with a shotgun .. ask him to define exactly what 'legend' means to him .. ??? Back to the topic, I reckon that both Canuck and Iceman are tougher than leather. I got pictures like that too, but the highway going through Muncho Lake is only about four feet behind me....
