What lightweight camera do you recommend? I'm trying to shave every ounce but also want decent image capability.

Pentax Optio W-2 ( I have the older model W90 @ 12 Megapixels) But they just keep getting better every time they come out with a newer one.

Frost - I have the Pentax WG-1 and it's an absolute gem. Waterproof, rubber coated, great lense and takes super pics and lots of "features" that I am toooo old and toooo technical challenged to understand, but!! It literally goes with me on every outdoor adventure and outing. I got mine at Target, they were closing them out for the W-2 that AK mentioned.

I've only got an old Canon SX120. It's not light but I'll put up with it until it dies. When I really want to save weight, I get a disposable camera from the supermarket.

Hi,

I can recommend the new Olympus TG1. Outstanding little All Weather (12 meters underwater), shock resistant to a fall from 2 meters (or so...) and crush resistant also. I have one of a previus models, a 1030 AW. The new TG1 is A LOT better in optics and functions. For a serious outdoors camera it is an option for sure.

Regards

PH

I looked at that one as a candidate but I wanted a longer zoom capability. Nice list of features and I think Fred Meyers has it on sale right now.

I have the same camera - great except for in the dark. Olympus is also good.

I second that, I've been using one for over a year now and it's great, they are often on sale at Costco.
