Don't forget that this is a back-pack hunt, not only the teeth but also the hide at around 140 klgs. Maybe a tuskless should be considered. jes sayin? Roll Eyes

I just figured I'd have Joyce carry it out.

That is a good idea, why marry a slave and then not make use of said slave. A word of advice, find a high spot, to pick up the breeze, with a bit of shade to keep the beers out of the sun, so as to keep an eye on matters and also sing out encouragement or threats as fits the occasion. Correct me if I am wrong but my understanding is that the true "desert" elephant are not hunted. although Damaraland is a semi desert. Just a technicality but clarity is a good thing. Hunted there myself and will do it again! Not saying anything negative just want some more information. Thanks.

It might just be a technicality but as far as Namibians are concerned, Damaraland is a desert and that all the elephants that roam the Western parts of Namibia are considered desert elephants.
Ivory is not big as their tuskes are always broken , about 45-50 lb on an old bull.
The hunt is conducted by backpack but we will bring in the trucks for the skinning and hauling!
