For those who do hunting with the pack on (not just moving up/down the mountain), how are you carrying the binos? Are you using a harness under the pack straps, which I tried and found super messy and annoying? or have you mounted the binos to the pack itself, and how? Thanks! O

I hunt with pack shouldered quite a bit. I carry my bino in an Alaska Guide Creations chest rig, aka my Snuggle Buddy. I don't notice the straps at all and think it's a great system (aside from having to partially disrobe to shed/add layers). I'd refer you to a picture, but Photobucket hosed me too and I haven't yet made the transition. I prefer not to attach the bino to the pack. I keep a few odds and ends in my Snuggle Buddy (bino, rangefinder, camera, lighter, wind checker, spare rounds, etc.) so that I can drop the pack for the last leg of a stalk and still have the necessities. _____________________ A successful man is one who earns more money than his wife can spend.

I always have a backpack and binos on hunting. I use the bino harnesses that are made by various companies. If you use the packs sternum strap (I do) then run it between the two straps. That way you can still raise the binos without interference. Also adjust the straps short so the binos ride up on my chest and don't bang around. Alaska Guide bino pack or one of the elastic strap bino harnesses. Both have worked well for me with a backpack on. The straps on these bino packs are flat and thin and don't get in the way of your pack straps. The AGC style packs stay put on your chest and you take the binos out. The Horn Hunter, and Kuiu packs are similar in design. These are all purpose designed for use with backpacks. Jeremy

I wear a button up hunting shirt. My bino's ride in my shirt. I change my clothes and layers so often I don't wanna mess with any sort of bino bra. Look cute but I've seen to many clients put their pack on, take it back off cause they forgot their bino bra. Or have to drop the bra to change a shirt or add a jacket, laying on your belly for long periods have gotten uncomfortable for some as well. I just prefer the simplicity of dropping them around my neck and down my shirt Or coat.

I've hunted with Jake a few times. Good times! I generally carry my bino's tucked into my jacket while hiking, and a light strap around my neck just in case they slip out. One of the biggest things I came to realize is that x32 bino's are my favorite size. Either 10x32 (most common) or 8x32. They fit me much better and carry so much easier.
