X frame w. a shortened cylinder/window in the frame, to hold 500 Specials... Even better if it could be done on a scandium frame...

I'd like this configuration with a fixed rear sight, easily replacable front sight and a bead blasted finish. I even sent a suggestion to Ruger to make a model called a "Grey Hawk".

An affordable reproduction of the Stevens tip-up single-shot in 22 LR. A companion long gun could be a remake of their Bicycle Rifle with a fixed buttstock and a 16 inch barrel that is easily detached or folds 180 degrees or so. http://nikolasschiller.com/ima...icycle_rifle_yes.jpg

A Pedersoli Howdah with 12 bore rifled barrels.

A single-action self-loading 50 GI single-stack set up so that depressing a spring-loaded thumb safety activates a guide rod laser and a weapon-mounted light (which is integrated into a slim polymer frame).

Why Ruger won't make a 5 shot version of ANY caliber in Blackhawk or Super Blackhawk or Bisley is beyond me.

I assume it is a liability issue.

Obviously this would be my preference, rather than having to send off the gun to have a smith make the cylinder.

sw n frame, 5 shot 475 ruger, or 45 lc, but designed for higher pressure, 4" barrel, a LITTLE heavier than the mountain gun, brass sights, taylor throated, 2$ single action trigger, 7# double, "vapor polished" interals, x500 grips, bedded to gun, in a cross draw holster, stainless steel.

or same in shortened xframe light weight
or same in super redhawk, light weight

LOL, i guess i should come out with the 458 JLC (jeffe long colt) that shoot .458 bullets, made from shortened 45/70 brass?

Jeffe -- keep in mind that only 2,000 psi separates the .480 Ruger from the .475 Linebaugh. Neither require a lot of pressure to work well. And you don't want the weight down to low in these things as they will kick the snot out of the shooter! Big Grin

Somehow I remember the 475 linebaugh being in the 50kCUP range. Hardly a low pressure round. The 500 linebaugh was around the 30kCUP range. The 454 was listed at an astronomical 60kPSI.

I was more concerned about cylinder length Smiler me, it would be 400gr bullets at 1000 fps, 4" barrel, and lets GO

forgot to mention, stainless --

Jphn,
60kpsi is more or less 51-52k cup (there's no DIRECT relationship, due to copper's properties) .. or about the same as the 475 or 454, either way, I wouldn't load it up to crazy, and iirc, the ruger is loaded to lesser pressure

Not sure on the Conversion, but I seem to remember 60kPSI being around 54kCup, which is astronomically high for a handgun. Even the 50kCup is up there!!! I would agree that with the 454 and 475 linebaugh there isn't much on earth that requires full power loads, and it is much easier on the wrists.

So, I just registered the .458 LC with ammoguide. I'll cut down some 45/70 brass, just to test, and run some loads through my 45/70 handirifle. This could be interesting. I am putting a ceiling of 28K .. Anyone got a blank cylinder for a 625?

I wish Ruger would reintroduce the Single Six with a Bisley grip. I missed out on getting one.
