Okay everyone! Tax season....What is everyone's next handgun gonna be ?!

I just picked up a Hawe's Western Six Shooter and was with my friend yesterday when he bought a Super Blackhawk in .44 Mag. Got me back in the mood to look for another hunting pistol!

I hunt with a 460 XVR, been thinking about a double action S&W or Ruger in 357 Mag. Not sure why, just got the bug. Smiler

I want to do a .375 Atomic like on SingleActions.com. It's a 30-30 case cut down to 1.4". http://singleactions.com/files/375AtomicUpdated.pdf
I've got a spare 357 Blackhawk laying around and picked up a 357max cylinder to use. I've got a couple of 375 cal barrels sitting around also to use. Now just need to find a good smith and order a reamer I think.

I think mine will also be a .357 of some sort. More than likely a double action...under $500

I feel obligated to own an S&W Mountain Gun (or a 4" P&R ). Problem is deciding between .44 mag and .45 colt.

I think you will find that the Max cylinder you bought isn't going to fit that Blackhawk 357... the frames are different sizes. I hope I am wrong, but I don't believe I am.

Yes the Max cylinder is longer, but has been shortened so that it will use all of the window in the frame to allow for a longer case and longer loaded length. It was a much cheaper option than getting a new custom cylinder made.

Yup, this is a fairly common practice in the custom world. Looking froward to seeing it! Who's going to do the work, Glen?

I'm going to have another .500 Linebaugh built on a Bisley Hunter that I have -- every .44 Mag deserves to become a .500 of some sort. Big Grin

Been meaning to get a Smith & Wesson PC .44 snubby for a year or two, keep getting distracted by other guns. So theoretically, that,d be the one. Unless a Ruger .45 Bisley whistles in my direction in a moment of weakness...

Lar45, if your plans change, I'd be interested in the Max cylinder. I have had three different cuostoms done with Max cylinders so they fill the frame window but I am always looking for another. The next will be another 41 I am thinking.

What are you going to use for a sub-caliber trainer if you convert all the .44s?

I want a H&R like my grandpa had. Model 999 Sportsman. Somewhere I have the serial number and year of manufacture, but don't want to pay an arm&leg.

Next would be a S&W 610,
Followed by a Seville 375IHMSA-which is probably very close to the 375 Atomic,
Of course a Freedom 353 in 357 mag would be cool too.......................

Been trying to find a M&P Smith to handle for a possible new CCW piece. But as usual when I go looking for something specific a panic happens and everything in the world that bullets come out of are either gone or way overpriced.

The first pistol I bought was a Hawe's Western Six Shooter in .357 from K-Mart many years ago.
It was great fun until some lowlife broke into my father’s house and stole it along with everything else I had.

Picked up a Stainless Steel Bisley Hunter in 44mag a couple weeks ago have to give it a try next deer season.

Been thinking about a 10mm Glock with optics just for general playing and annual pig hunt. But every time I shoot a Glock I'm disappointed with the trigger. I wonder if there's a good solution without going to another 1911 or revolver?

I have been thinking about a 686 plus. Can't decide between 6 inch and 4 inch barrels. I'd like the longer barrel to hunt with and the shorter to just pack around. The long barrel with a full underlug would look great along side my 629

I just purchased a Reeder BMF custom in 475 Maximum. It should go real well with my BMF in 500 S&W. Both use heavy 5 shot cylinders built on his beefy SS frame and have 4-1/2" magnaported barrels.

I have a BFR in 44 mag at the dealers now paid for and waiting on Maryland paper work. I also have a 1911 in 10mm ordered from a custom gunsmith in VA the frame and slide should be to him this week. My problem is the 8-10 weeks Maryland is taking to do the normal 7 day background check. From what I here they have 40,000 + permits backed up WOW tks KEN

Just picked it up today and stopped at range on the way home. I had bought some low recoil loads as I was unsure how the beast would handle. What a pussycat! My 44mag with 300 gr corbons kicks a hell of a lot more. Will have to load up some stouter loads. Definitely a pleasure to shoot at this point.
