At the diner this morning they were talking about hunting deer .I mentioned that I had just gotten another deer with my 44mag -one shot as always. One fellow turned and asked [seriously !] "is that enough ?" Turns out he hunts deer with handgun also -one of those "handguns " with long barrel and firing a 243 !!!

That is funny!
Introduce him to the .44 and he might sell off the pistol.

I've been successful with one of "those" in .308 Win. domestically and in RSA, along with a .44 Mag and .480 Ruger. It's all good!

My favorite is a Remington XP-100 in a custom barreled 7-08. A 130 gr out of the tube at 2752 in a handgun. The plus is that it is the most accurate gun I own. It is onlly 250 fps slower than a .270 in a much lighter and compact package.
