So far, I've seen: Taper Crimp, Roll Crimp, Factory Crimp, and Profile (?) Crimp dies offered for handgun cartridges. Which one is used when? Thanx, R-WEST

any of those are fine. the best crimp die i've had contact with is the Lee Factory Crimp die, its nice. I believe my dies are taper crimp, not sure, but they do a great job on my .38 and .357 loads. If i were loading for big bores, i would definatly opt for the 4-Hole conversion on my Lee Turret press so i could use the factory crimp dies. If you are just loading standard loads, then any of them will do fine. If you're going to load big bores (.44mag and up) then i would suggest using the factory crimp die.
cyberhick and BER007 - I see you both recommend the Lee 4 hole press. Don't have one of those, but, I think I'll look into it. All that die changing is a pain with a single station press. R-WEST
