Beautiful pistol! What loads do you have for the .475 Linebaugh that you are going to try out of it?

Also, what does it say on the barrel?

It says "El Diablo" on the barrel

I have some Hornady factory stuff for right now. I just moved recently and my reloading bench is still packed up in storage until we get settled.

One of my pals has a Reeder w/o all the fancy stuff on the gun except a very good set of wood grips on it. He also has the V/heavy bead on his 5 1/2" 475. With that Reeder reshaped grip, it just absolutely feels nice.

Can't wait to hear the range report! Do you have anything else but the Hornady ammo you mentioned?? Keep us posted!

put a box of ammo through it yesterday. Lots of noise and a fairly stout recoil (more muzzle rise than my 510, but then again it isn't magnaported). The trigger is even better than my 510 though. I think the Hornady ammo is loaded a little hot as I had a few cases stick.

Lfaler -- how was the accuracy? Glad to hear it shoots well!

I like the Reeder grip and some day will send him one to rework for me. Let us know how it shoots. As a kindness I'd offer to trade you a few other guns before you hurt yourself with that one. jumping

I cannot honestly attest to the accuracy at this time. I haven't been to the range in months because of my move/job change/getting settled etc. I know that my 510 will make nice little cloverleafs at 25 yards and that is with me shooting it. With someone who could actually shoot worth a darn, probably better. Once I have put some practice in I'll report back. As it was I had some ill fitting gloves that weren't really designed for shooting that I wore (stupid on my part) and they were loose enough that I wound up beating my hands senseless from slippage (about 40 rounds of the linebaugh and 510 gnr full house loads). My right hand is still pretty sore. Dumb on my part. I won't forget my shooting gloves again, that is for sure.

Did you find the Hornady ammo's recoil to be objectionable? That's a real nice piece! thumb

It felt a bit hot. Some of the cases were sticking. I'm going to try to Grizzly Ammo out and see how that works. Everything was made worse by my poor choice of wearing crappy ill fitting gloves that allowed the gun to slap my in the palm more than normal.

Lfaler, I understand that Grizzly ammo is real high quality, but I also understand that Buffalo Bore's offerings for the .475 are even better, particularly the 420 grain LFN at 1,350 fps. It's supposed to be the cream of the crop as far as factory loads are concerned. I've stocked up on two different Buffalo Bore loads (420 & 440 grain loads) and a box of Hornady ammo to try out as soon as my Linebaugh is delivered..... Not trying to stear you away from Grizzly as I too plan to try their ammo out........
