I connected this weekend. Doe at 50 yards with my .38-40 shooting a 200 grain LFN at 1,300 fps. Facing toward me on an angle, bullet entered the left shoulder high (was in a tree stand) and exited the right hindquarter low. She ran about 50 yards to the edge of the field and flopped over. Revolver, check; ammo, check; knife, check; camera, uh-oh.

If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.

well, congratulations, here at my land we don't have many whitetails and we have just an 8 day muley season, bucks only. had one in my sights the other morning, i guessed around 200 yards and moving, albeit slowly, just not a shot i wanted to take with my 454 in the stiff wind. would've liked about 100 yards closer in that wind but i have found a way to get some great hunts this year, oryx and elk. should be fun. congrats again. sure is fun to have so many bigbore pistol rounds to bicker about. when i first got into this there was really only a few. now what fun!!!!!!!!!!!
