Nope, got my BFR directly from Magnum Research. Do you get American Hunter? "Ignorance you can correct, you can't fix stupid." JWP If stupidity hurt, a lot of people would be walking around screaming. Semper Fidelis "Building Carpal Tunnel one round at a time"

Did this change? Last time this came up, IIRC, it was the cylinder was 17-4, and the frame 17-6. If it's all 17-4, and is half the price of an FA... I've always wanted to buy one. Only one I found around here was 1000 for a used BFR .475 Linebaugh. Seems I always end up with an FA cheap, and then convert it.

Based on the title of this thread, did anyone mention a 45ACP? Peter. Be without fear in the face of your enemies. Be brave and upright, that God may love thee. Speak the truth always, even if it leads to your death. Safeguard the helpless and do no wrong;

Don't know the composition of the older BFRs, but they are made entirely of 17-4 now (save for the barrels). You know, the MSRP is right around $1,000 -- don't know why you can't find 'em cheaper and a lot cheaper used. "Ignorance you can correct, you can't fix stupid." My favorite is probably my Contender with the .22 LR barrel on it and a 2x Simmons scope on top. I've taken hundreds of coons, squirrels, rabbits, and groundhogs with it. It's as accurate as any of my .22 rifles.
