475/480With such a big case you will need to use rifle powders. And the powder will never burn completely in a 8-10" barrel,so you will gain a little velocity but not nearly as much as you might hope for IMO.
I do have a TC Encore in 475 GNR -14" bll.I took a bison with it using a 460gr LFNGC at 1470 FPS.

boom stickit seems that maybe the long barreled t.c. pro would be the way to go...
for a real frankenstein project someone could turn a 45-90, 45-100, 45-110, 45-120 into a 475 version...
shove THAT cigar in yer t.c.

bfrshooterYou sure don't need rifle powder! 296 is the very best. I shot mine today with both a home made 411 gr wfnpb and the Lee 400 gr. I hit slightly above center on the target with both at 50 yd's and centered a spray paint can at 100 yd's. Why is the case so big it needs rifle powders? The 460 gr I tried was very accurate with 296. I don't have a mould for it so I just shoot around 400 gr's.

Woodrow S475/480 (Sean)knows his stuff when it comes to handguns, cast bullets and loads. I would take his comments/advice seriously and would not have any reason to raise doubt.

bfrshooterNot doubt, I just mixed up the two different rounds. My fault!
