Hi everyone, Is there anything special / difficult / unique about BFR trigger jobs? I have an early model and the trigger pull is significantly higher than I prefer. I had my local guy (who is usually excellent, btw) look at the pistol but his efforts resulted in no noticeable improvement. I was thinking of trying Mag-na-port as I've heard they do a good job of tuning BFRs. Thanks analog_peninsula ----------------------- It takes character to withstand the rigors of indolence. | ||

I can take them to 1-1/2# or 2# with zero creep in fifteen minutes. I do it free for my shooting friends. Basic Ruger parts. Wonderful guns, the easiest to do EVER! Find a gunsmith that knows his stuff or do it yourself. Does not take any brains. | |||

I note that you are in Texas. While I usually do my own trigger work when I had Alan Harton (in Houston) do some tweaking to my 475 BFR I had him work the trigger and install an over travel stop. The trigger is perfect now. No creep and 3# which is where I like them. Alan does great work from simple like a trigger job to as exotic as one desires. Here's my 475 BFR he worked over for me. It was a 7 1/2" gun (as BFR measures them) from the CDNN blowout they had a bit ago where they sold them for $500. What a bargain.  | |||

They fit the earlier BFR's (they have a cylinder base pin latch) but not the current JT serial numbered guns such as mine above. | |||

My BFR's are all JT and came with SBH grips. Marko's custom shop gun that he just received will take my grips. The Pachmeyer grips are marked on the inside for the SBH. Your gun is indeed beautiful but I can't tell if it has more of a Bisley grip. I can't compare them since mine have rubber grips. Too bad we can't get a side by side picture.  | |||
