Anyone here have any plans to do any hunting this summer?

I'm going to attempt to get a couple of hog hunts in over the next few months, but that is the extent of it this summer.

Let's hear it!

The end of August I will be bow hunting for black bear, with my 475 Linebaugh as my back up gun.

Excellent! Sounds like fun! I have three potential bear hunts in the works, but it's still a bit early......

In the meantime I will go after hogs and the occasional chipmunk...... Big Grin

I have been wanting to go on another hog hunt, it has been several years that I have not hunted them. I will see after my bear hunt.

George wants to go to Montana for Prong horn or another hunt.

There are a couple of good outfitters (from what I have heard) in Pennsylvania.

With the stuff some of you are planning, I'm reluctant to mention this -

But does June squirrel season with a .22 SW Model 41 count?

When I was a kid I used to pretend I was in the jungle, and that squirrel resting high up on a limb is really a leopard...I can still get a little of that out of it...

I try to get in a quick couple of hours every trip up to our place in the country before getting to work on the weekend projects.

Might only be for hogs, but I almost got a shot at a yote the other morning with my bow. That would have iced the cake for me. He just found something more interesting in the woods before he got within range.

The other thing I am seing quite a few of is cotton tails, so they might be on the list sometime later this year. The best thing about hitting the field before the sun comes up is seeing all of the different critters. I have seem more deer and rabbits on our place in the past 4 months than I have seen in the past couple of years. Hopefully letting some of it grow back up over the past 10 years or so has helped to bring them back.

Hog hunt in central Florida in two weeks. I get to test the new OFF Clip-ons. I hear they work very well and are quiet and scent free. I figure with the rain they had, the mosquitos will be as big as turkeys. If it works, I won't have to wear the extra layer of a bug suit. Smiler

You couldn't be more right, Larry! I have hunted a lot in Central Florida and this time of year there will be boatloads of mosquitos. Get yourself a Thermacell -- nothing works as well to keep you mosquito free.

Well, since that's the third time I have heard that from three different people, as Mom always said, "well, if you keep hearing it from people with experience, you ought to go with it." I'll do that too. I think the wife has one around here for when she gardens.
