what is the pressure difference between a Hornady factory 200gr. sst load and the 395 lead load for the 460 S&W? what i am trying to find out is will i get more shots out of a barrel if i stick with the heavy or light bullets? i like both but just curious.
My question is, how hot can a cast boolit be driven from the .460? Since I only shoot cast, is it worth buying the caliber? If all of the potential can't be used unless tough jacketed bullets are used, I see no sense in buying one if only .45 Colt and .454 velocities can be reached.
Very high pressures CAN be shot with cast bullets,IMO you just have to use hardcast (BHN 20+) bullets with the correct lube(viscocity) and gascheck's of course.I shoot high pressure cast bullets in my 475,475 Max,SW 500 all the time.
Sounds good to me, I just might have to sell more guns to buy one. Don't know why though because the guns I have are more then enough for deer. Kid's toys I guess!
