While I have started playing with smaller calibers more of late, Fat Top is certainly seems to be moving up int the really BIG BORE arena

That would work great in a 10-lb revolver! Good thing he's using hollow-points, seems to me that thing wouldn't make a very big hole...... dancing

Whit! Why the negative response? I thought that you of all people would want to be the first in line to get one of these! No more "girly" cartridges for the masses....we are going full bore with this one! .825 bore diameter, 1350 grain bullet at 960 fps....2763 ft lbs! Why settle for less!!!

WOW would make a cool carbine or single shot rifle cartridge. Would make a great brush guns for pigs ect. In a carbine or single shot rifle. I would prefer a cast bullet as not to breat the bank shooting it. Roll Eyes

I'd be worried about expansion with such a low velocity rotflmo

Yeah, but are the bullets going to expand reliably at that velocity?

It'd be pretty respectable if someone was to load a cast bullet in that cartridge.

I'm still planning to hunt opening weekend with my 2" J-Frame in .38 Special.

You are all just jealous.....When I drop the hammers on this double barreled Howdah I will "own" anything within range....At 75 yards (thats where the barrels are regulated) This bullet will still be traveling at 930 fps...talk about "momentum"! It is a bit hard to shoot, and once my arm is out of the cast, I am going to give it another try....still havent got it sighted in for deer season.

Jeffeosso; Hate to bust your buuble buddy, but, that is not a lighter. It is a real cartridge. It was developed by a group of folks who got sick and tired of seeing big bore handgun rounds become extinct, because gun writers would swear that only the newest and largest handgun rounds were the only ones that would kill game. As it stands now, if you dont hunt with a 500 S&W, you cant kill nothin (unless of course a new bigger bore magnum comes on the market), then the 500 will be obsolete and unable to kill game. Anyway, this group had enough and decided to design a cartridge that would in essence put all these gun writers out of work....it is the "end all" big bore magnum handgun cartridge. It IS shootable, accurate, and will kill anything that walks (drives or flies) this earth, and any guy (or gal for that matter) with a little hair on their chest, can easily become proficient with this round.

sorry man, its a SPOOF ..

Have you shot this round in a hand gun, or been PRESENT when it was shot?

As I said, I have this lighter, and it's a spook

Jeffeosso; I am glad that you posted the article on the G&S 825 Express Magnum. No, I have not shot, or seen it shot (I may be a BS'er, but I am not a fool!!!) The whole purpose of this tongue in cheek G&S article was to get a point across to handgunners that they need not have the newest, biggest, and most powerful handgun that hits the market (just because some gun wrtier says so) to be a proficient handgun hunter, and, that the "old reliables" are still very much useful as hunting weapons. I have read on this and other forums, that this caliber or that wont kill game, or that cast bullets dont work, etc. This could be nothing further from reality, and this was just a humerous attempt to state that point! There IS a 600 Nitro Express handgun that has been in development for sometime, and that may be viewed on "you tube"....also, the Thonpson Center Contender is custom chambered for the 600 NE as well...and I wont be shooting that one either! I was told many years ago by one of the first handgun hunters in our area that handgun proficiency and skill as a hunter is what makes a kill "regardless of caliber", which lead me to the pursuit of handgun hunting. Long before I owned the 44 mag I took game with the 45 ACP and 44 Special, and to this day my 44 mag hunting loads are light compared to what most handgunners shoot, and do the job in short order...............by the way, you guys that use snubbies for hunting are my handgun hunting hero's! The shortest barrel I have ever used is 5"....just goes to show I still have a lot to learn!

This looks every bit as real as the 1180 BE I posted on the Big Bore forum a few years ago.

But the 1180 BE must be for wimps compared to the .825 G&S because it's designed for a rifle.

Just for comparison, that's a .375 H&H on the left and a .460 Wby. on the right.

My question is: "when will the game start repecting me?!?!?!"

I have not noticed being respected by game any more when I use a "lesser" cartridge. If that were the case, I would just go deer hunting with a 22 LR...........pull up to the ol' hunting spot, show them deer the 22, open the tailgate, and they would jump right in...right? bewildered
