Has anyone shot one of these? Any idea how it would compare to a 4" model w. a compensator? I'm considering selling my 4" in favor of one. (And... maybe an 8"...) I shot one that a guy I know has, it is not bad at all without the compensator. I had a custom end cap made for my 4 inch 500 Mag, so it now does not have a compensator.. Shoot fine with out it. No difference in felt recoil in my opinion, but less muzzle rise with a compensator.. In my opinion the 500 Mag does not need a compensator... If you're going to make a hole, make it a big one. To tell you the truth, when you are dealing with the 460 and 500 Mag, the noise is deafening with or without a compensator... If there is a difference, I don't think you would be able to tell. At least I could not. If you're going to make a hole, make it a big one.
