Has anyone shot one of these? Any idea how it would compare to a 4" model w. a compensator? I'm considering selling my 4" in favor of one. (And... maybe an 8"...)

I shot one that a guy I know has, it is not bad at all without the compensator. I had a custom end cap made for my 4 inch 500 Mag, so it now does not have a compensator.. Shoot fine with out it. No difference in felt recoil in my opinion, but less muzzle rise with a compensator..

In my opinion the 500 Mag does not need a compensator...

Did there seem to be much difference in the noise between the compensated and uncompensated model?

To tell you the truth, when you are dealing with the 460 and 500 Mag, the noise is deafening with or without a compensator... If there is a difference, I don't think you would be able to tell. At least I could not.
