I know these are faux ivory but I can't help but remember Geoge C. Scott in "Patton" saying. "Pearl grips!" Only a pimp from a New Orleans whorehouse would have pearl grips. Mine are Ivory." Never mistake motion for action.

Classic! And I once owned the House of the Rising Sun in New Orleans! (333 Bourbon St) The Irony! Lol "That's not a knife..THIS is a KNIFE" !

I really like that one. I'm not a fan of pearl or ivory grips but those sure do look good on that one. I need to find something about that size for a backup/hiking six shooter.

Who did the custom work on that pistol? I would like to have one like it done on a Ruger 41 mag black hawk with wooden grips. ………......…………………........... My Smith did it as a favor for me..he wont do anymore.. I can recommend (JRH) Jack Jack Huntington as he has done similar for me..or you can try Bayou Teche Guns in La..Mike has it now for a action job..look him up and ask him if he could do yours like this one? Good Luck! "That's not a knife..THIS is a KNIFE" !

My semi-auto bear backup gun. A Springfield V16 in 45 Super I bought it when they first came out. Even with the Buffalo Bore 255g hardcast loads, it kicks like a full sized Beretta 9mm. It's not much to look at, but if I needed a handgun for bear backup it would be a double-actioned large frame revolver. 340s at 1200 fps would give me at least a little peace of mind.

I can tell you that they will shoot through several feet of bear.
