I went on a wounded warrior hunt at the Rolling R ranch in Harrison Arkansas this past weekend and had a blast. I used my 500 JRH BFR with 400gn cast boolit at 950 fps. The first shot was probably 15 yds from a tree stand and I hit him exactly center in the head just below the eyes, so it went down and out without hitting anything important Then he took off running, I could see the first hit so I kept shooting till he was down. I knew he was a small one, but it looked like a great shot to take with the pistol and it should be tender, lol. Next time, I'll go for a shoulder. My son shot a big Sow with my 30-06 at about 25yds, Win 150gn factory stuff, one shot behind the shoulder and she was down. He's had a great time letting me know his was bigger than mine.

Congratulations to the both of you!! Should eat real well! Nice shooting! Remember that with a handgun, they're all trophies! "Ignorance you can correct, you can't fix stupid." Sure are! Even that jukebox you shot that time you were drunk... sorry, I forgot not to talk about that. If ignorance is bliss; there are some blissful sonofaguns around here. We know who you are, so no reason to point yourselves out.

Congrats. And 400 gr in the head but not hitting anything vital works just the same if one happens to be using a 416 rem at 2400 fps on a javalina. Even at 15 yards.
