Thank you. These presses seem to be in the $250ish dollar range. Is the Rock Chucker Supreme, about a hundred bucks less, adequate or is it inferior?

Thank you

The Rock Chucker is a good press maybe just not quite as nice or stout as the Ammomaster. It would work just fine for most folks. A lot of posters have been talking very positively about the Lee Classic Cast press which is supposedly in the same class of press as the RCBS and costs even less.

Me I replaced my Rock Chucker Supreme with the Redding.....................DJ

no no it was only a challanger press, the cheapest one of the lot. it broke where the handle goes into a cast peice that attachs to the ram of the press. you can turn that part of it around and it works just the same. although i did load some bloody accurate loads out of that press! some of my best.

braking a classic cast press would probably require a bit more force! but who is surpised the challanger press broke?

Kia ora Paul. The cast bit breaking is a common problem with the basic Lee. You can replacement parts fro Re-loader Supplies in Auckland. I think i paid 420 for it about 5 years ago. I still got a Redding press.

a ruck chucker SUPREME is a taller animal than all the other rockchuckers .. and if you aren't doing 2, 4 or 600 NE, it will work fine ..

I want to reload only one cartridge - 9.3x74R and I don't know how large a press is needed.

What do I look for in a press if this is what I want to load?

Thank you

Oxon

I would recommend the Redding Ultra-Mag. It has the leverage to make easy work out of loading the 9.3x74R. I also recommend Redding dies as I find them to be of the highest quality. Redding has moved 9.3x74R dies and .470 from custom to production in their listing, making them much more affordable. By the way what rifle do you own in 9.3x74R?
