DKT 700 Caliber Bullets

I found a box of soft point bullets from DKT, marked as custom made for the 700 NE.

Out of curiosity, I weighed them.

They are supposed to be 1,000 grains each.

Weight varied between 987.1 to 999.8.

They are obviously made in dies, with a lead core, and for their intended purpose they are just fine.

But this got me thinking that CNC turned bullets are held to much tighter weight tolerance.

Yes sir -- nearly 2% weight variation isn't going to work for a normal rifle .. but one that has a max range of 50 yards, 2% of moa, or 4% of an inch, isn't going to matter, when it's a 700 bullet
