I want redding for my 416 ruger but they are not in stock anywhere, back ordered. The hornady dies are available as well as rcbs. I really do want excelent dies. I've always used redding or forster for everything.

Two thoughts. I use Hornady Custom Dies and love them, so I would not hesitate.

If you want Redding, just backorder and wait. You may not be happy with enything else and why put yourself through it? Brass World has them with a two week estimated delivery.

I think you are right. I'll just back order them and know I'm getting what I want.

Have you tried CH/4D? Their dies are top-notch and less expensive than other companies.

i like hornady dies .. i have ALOT of them - however, in my case, when i want redding dies (not rcbs in this case) that is what I want.. and i order them.. and wait.. if the wait is too long, i buy the other ones, planning on selling them (which nearly never happens) and trying to convince myself the dies i "preferred" are materially better...

the dies of soddy dies, while not gone, is certainly not a condition for me, most of the time ..

I use nothing but Hornady dies and use the micrometer bullet stem
After a length of a loaded round is established I record the mic reading with the load data
Then months or years later a new batch is a snap to reproduce
