After a couple hundred rounds I discovered the CCI primers I was using for my 10 MM reloads were the 350 Magnums. Contacted CCI who told me to ask Hornady but in the meantime I'll ask the forum gurus. Various cases, 155 gr Hornady XTC JHP, 8 gr Winchester Auto Comp Ball Powder. Will using CCI 350 Magnums be safe in this configuration? Thanks.

I'm not sure how you're going to get 80 grains of powder into a 10mm case, but that load will be as safe with a CCI 350 as with a CCI standard primer. So will any other load in your 10mm, even reasonable ones.

No need to bust my balls over a typo OR following the recommended Hodgdon loads, ma'am. Some people don't know all the answers to everything like you appear to.

I've noticed stonecreek to be a better guy than you've implied. Relax a little and you'll do better here.

I think I'm going blind, I read 8gr.

Political correctness offends me.

Sorry, I suppose I should have put the little smiley face beside my reply to let you know I was being facetious. Regardless, I stand by the accuracy of my answer and intended it to be of help to you.

The use of a magnum pistol primer at max loads in the 10mm can definitely cause a pressure spike and KaBoom. See handloader mag article Jan 2012 on this very subject. Stick with large pistol
primers only with 10mm at max loads.

I never learn from typo correction but I am dyslectic. So the guy busted your chops a little sheesh get over it, ma'am to use yOur own misanthropic insult.

As for the load 80 is bad. 8 and a mag primer probably makes no difference.

I looked at a powder burn rate chart and it lists the following with 1 being the fastest and 145 being the slowest:

Power Pistol - 33

Winchester Auto Comp - 43

Blue Dot - 49

I'm shooting a Sig 226 .40S&W 155g Laser Cast slug with 8.6g of Power Pistol and a regular CCI pistol primer for a chronograph 1300 fps. Now that is on the warm side but no big deal in that Sig or in another Sig 2023 I have in .40S&W.

Now Power Pistol is a faster burning powder than Win Auto Comp and I would think that your load is absolutely fine. Any chronograph readings on it and what is the shooter that you are using?

I wouldn't think at that load level that the mag or non mag primer is a big deal as that is not a top end load, IMHO.
