I recently bought some surplus 150gr. .358 corelokt bullets and I'm having trouble finding a recipe for a bullet lighter than 180gr. for 358Win. I'm confident I can safely work up a load with the information available...just curious if anyone ever tried 150gr. bullets in a 358Win and willing to offer a hint at a working recipe. Thanks.

Do not own a .358 but Lyman #44-#47 have data for the 150 gr PSPCL w/IMR 3031, 4064, 4895, 4320, RX7, BL-C(2), H-335, H-380.

Re7 may be a good choice & also H322 Check the Lyman manual I personally found the 225 gr Sierras are the best for the 358 Win. "When the wind stops....start rowing. When the wind starts, get the sail up quick."

150gr easily go over 3000 fps, i think my lyman told me (been awhile since i loaded 358)
the 225gr game kings have always been great for me, too opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? Case Drawings 416-458-470AR and 500AR. 476AR, http://www.weaponsmith.com

Over 3,000 fps with 150gr bullets would be smokin for the 358Win! I'll be curious to see how it prints on paper. Thanks for the info.

I have an early square thread 358 Win Savage 99. This is the most accurate bullet I have found for this particular rifle with IMR 4064. I also use the Hornady 200 grain but it is not nearly as consistent as the Rem bullet.

That's encouraging to hear. Any chance you know the twist rate of your barrel?

Triple 4, I'm pretty sure you are talking about the 150 CL Remington loaded for the 35 Rem. so be cautious when using it on game as it seems to me that it should be quite explosive at 358 velocities. BTW they shot very good in a Marlin 35 Rem. Mark MARK H. You may be right about the 150 CL being explosive on game. May have to experiment with a groundhog or two to test it out... Only plan to hunt whitetail with it so I'm hoping they will perform as well as 150 CL bullets out of my 30-06....

My 358 is a featherweight with the factory barrel. I do not know the twist rate but it sure likes the 150 grain Remington bullets.

Have you hunted with the 150gr. bullets? I'm curious if the construction is heavy enough for using in a 358Win on whitetail.

I have not used these for hunting so do not know how they will work. I am curious about them and plan to try them this fall.

I promise you they are a bomb, and will destroy a Texas whitetail or coyote...I shot them in my 35 Whelen on two occasion on whitetail, one I literally decapitated and the other was a shoulder shot and way too destructive, never have seen more bloodshot meat....MY velocity in the Whelen is the same as the 358..I shot them in the 358 Savage on a Mule deer with the same destruction...If you like quick clean kills and don't care for deer meat, you will like them. In those days all 35 bullets were constructed for 35 Rem velocity..I recall Jack O'Connor shooting a deer with such a load in his Whelen and telling of the off shoulder flying up in the air.. That's great information...Thank You! Here in PA, with a hunter behind every tree during buck season, a quick kill is a good thing. There's plenty of meat in the hind quarters
