Some where I saw a picture of a reloading die with a dile indicator mounted on the top
who makes this die? and is it for bullet seat.

It's probably something the benchrest crowd use to get the seating depth just right. Check out http://www.sinclairintl.com/ and you may find what you were looking at.

You were probably thinking of the Redding bullet comparator/headspace die. Sorry about the mishmash link.

Hivelosity - You may wish to consider using the Stony Point comparator to measure seating depth. The problem with the Redding dial indicator is you must unscrew your seater, then screw in the dial indicator, check depth, then unscrew the dial, and then back to the seater. The process will drive you crazy and is not necessarily repeatable.

With the Stony Point gage, you simply attach it to your micrometer, seat your bullet, measure OAL, and then adjust your die.

I had one in .22 hornet caliber...made by hornady "new dimension dies" and it was on the bullet seater die, worked very well.

zero,I was thinkin about making one, using a blank die?? . I have not figured it out yet. thought it would be a good Idea if you could seat a bullet with the indicator mounted on the press at a station next to you bullet seat die and have the ram contact the gauge on the stroke? That way you could see how much the cartrage entered the die each time and if you stop at the sane point on the indicator then there would be good control on the amount of pressure and measurement on the round.
does that make any sense?
