I am having trouble with seating depth that these bullets like. While the guns in question will shoot half inch with TSX I want to use North forks and I just can't get them to the accurate spot. I think I may be seating to close to the lands I have gone to 50 thou off but that does not seem to be enough. Anyone thta has any suggestions please let me know

try -30 and -65 thousands. these are sweet spots for me, for jacketed (-30) and copper mono -65 barnes says GO BACK (-70, -75) for accuracy opinions vary band of bubbas and STC hunting Club Information on Ammoguide about the416AR, 458AR, 470AR, 500AR What is an AR round? I agree w/ Jeffe .....
You are attempting to Benchrest the AOL in a hunting rifle; seemingly fruitless IMO. Back both the Barnes & North Forks off until you can get a crimp at the most forward groove. Yeah, they'll be short(er) - IMO they may just deliver for you; they do for me. Cheers, Number 10

soory about spelling on north forks I hit the button before I knew it and I have tried to edit but no luck. I just have been more clear I am seating far away from lands. barnes I am always 70 thou or more and on NF I am thinking they need to be farther. I have tried about six different reifles 30 or 40 thou from lands and no where close to barnes accuracy I just wondered if there is a problem if all the bands are completly inside the case. thanks for any help

Gerryb, Start at least 0.05" from the lands. That is where we have found the best accuracy in our testing. Have you necked turned your brass? If it is a bottle neck case, neck turning provides the biggest bang for your time as far as accuracy is concerned. We have proven this time and time again to ourselves. It is due to the fact that our bullets are right on caliber size, not 0.001" small as in some Barnes TSX calibers. For accuracy after neck turning, we have found Norma and Remington brass are the best. Winchester, Jamison, Hoernberer, etc. the least. Please give us a call if you have any questions. We are hear to help. Regards, John North Fork Technologies www.northforkbullets.com
