I'm still using my 19 year old Pro-Jector. I'd have to say I've reloaded well over 40,000 rounds on it. Which, come to think of it, isn't that much in the grand scheme of things!

Robert

I understand that the L&LAP now has a case feeder.....mine doesn't have one but my 650 Dillon does.....it's handy but not as important as one might think.

Hornady's quick change (Lock & Load) die system is actually better than Dillon's.....once you figure out how to use their split rings to your advantage.....and the guy that invented it is a great guy as well!

You don't need a new powder measure for each cartridge, either. Drain the powder (with the measure still mounted if you like), change the bottom assembly on the case activated drop, and adjust the metering.

LOL -- which leads me to believe you've not acutally used the hornady .. so no comparison would be "fair"

I like Hornady products, and I like Steve Hornady as a person.

I have a square deal in production, and it CERTAINLY can't handle my wildcats, much less use every 7/8 die set on the market ..

no offense to dillon owners and users, but i strongly doubt 1% of people have used BOTH brands, and even them an honest try.

Hope you bought the new model with revised ejector system. The earlier one with the ejector wire is a real pain. Other than that it's great. Just ran 500 9mm through mine and after that about 400 357 through my old ProJector. About 3 hours altogether (not including loading the primer tubes)and would've been faster if the ejector wire didn't hang up every now and then.

Don't forget to get an RCBS Lock out die if you are loading quantities of pistol ammo. Really helps.

rnovi, 40,000 rounds, yours is just past the toddler stage now.

Ozzie,
roger that, and got it. sinclair had it IN STOCK and new, with all the latest bells and whistles

People tend to compare the LnL to the 650 .. as that's it the dillon with the same features ..

except I am paying $410 delivered, for all the features of the 650, but closer to price of the 550 or, once you take the second dieset into consideration, a SDB

I received mine today ...

Took less than 45 mins to put it together --- works great .. easy, fast, and excellent

Okay, so, litterally 22 inches apart from the dillon SDB .. I am wicked pleased with both.

next - some shell plates and bushings on the way

Actually it is a fine progressive press.

I'm not at all sure if it was to counter Dillon....but it's still quite a fine machine.

I really enjoy mine.

Right now I'm in the process of getting the EZeject kit to replace the wire eject. Hopefully, its "in the mail".

I already got my retrofitted shell plates back from Hornady.

it comes setup for Large primers, and is EASY to setup..

it processed 25 376 steyr cases, once the dies were adjusted, in about 5-6 minutes, as I watched EVERY step.

I could have done them in about 2-3 minutes, but why? the rate I was going was AMAZING for full sized rifle cases.. old, grungy, near max loads ... amazingly nice.

Okay, I am hooked

Jeff....what would you say for loading the longer rounds like the 416 Remington....

I think bullet seating gets very cramped.....did you notice this?

I'll check tonight.. with RIGBY brass, too...
seriously, no joking, they sell a rigby/weatherby shell plate, which I bought ... since it CAN'T use 1" dies (no way) I am limted to 500AR and down! Can't do any 550s .. unless I talk DAve D into running a special set..

but 510wells/500A2/500AR, shouldn't be much of a problem...

and with the bushing setup, 3.30 each, Q10, onced the dies are set, then die changes are seconds

I am well pleased with mine

The free bullets on Hornady stuff is nice if you already want that piece of equipment to begin with AND you need the bullets they offer. They have a list on their site and it's a pretty lean selection. But if it's something you would use go for it.

Also on their website now they are saying 6 month backorder on that stuff as well.

I just took a look for it at Midway USA and (of course) it was out of stock, no backorder... but it was rated 5 stars, (1-3 star rating, 9-4 star, and the other 45 were 5 star) that's pretty good in my book.
