Okay guys,

Got a new 4.5-14x50 VXIII mounted on my Rem 700 .300 RUM.

Ordered a couple boxes of Gerards magic pills (HV) in the 160 grain variety.

Picked up 100 count new brass.

Now I need some recipes.

Gerard posted one once when I asked about his bullets. Printed it out. Lost it. Now can't find it again.

Gerard, Eric Leonard, Saeed. Anybody.

HELP!!!!!

with 160`s i would start with 93 gr RL22 and work till i found the sweet spot.that should be all there is to it.try the fed match primers of the standard non-magnum variety first.
mine shoots the 150 sierra with 96 grs RL22 at 3611 fps and the 165 sierra with 94 gr RL22 at 3405 and very accurate.
with the 180`s RL25 comes in first.

I have found RL 25 to be better in my 300RUM
for both 165 and 180 gr bullets both for velocity and accuracy. I have tried h1000 which was too slow, Rl22 which didn't give as good accuracy and IMR 7828 which was very fast but less consistent with 165gr. My chamber is cut tight and I get 3475fps from 168 nosler J4 with 96gr RL25 Fed mag primers and 3.750 COL. and a 27.5" barrel.

Thanx Guys,
Looks like RL-22 to start. Maybe RL-25.

I can hardly wait.

Eric,
I also ordered some 100 grain HVs for my .25-06. I'm gonna try what works real well with all the other 100 grainers - IMR4831. I may try H4831SC too.

BTW, I love your signature line!!!

yep,my 25-06 with 26 inch bbl goes fast with 100 NBT and tiny groups with a max load of IMR 4831.
in the RUM the 180`s go 3435 with 96 gr RL25.
