I'm having a new .300 RUM built and am trying to decide between Talley rings or Kelbly rings. What do you guys prefer? Is one or the other stronger?

Kelbly rings are usually installed on benchrest guns. They may or may not be designed for the recoil of a .300RUM sporter.

Contact Kelbly directly and ask them; I know Talleys will handle the recoil.

The Kelblys are a very lightweight ring. For strength I would be inclined to go with the Talleys or Warnes. Regards, Bill.

I've been using Kelbly rings, the 30mm double screw model with a Nightforce scope on a 7mm STW and a 300 Win Mag for about a year and a half now. No problems with ring strength.

I am not that familiar with the Kelby, but the Talley rings and bases I own are excellent.

Let me know what ones you get and how they work out. I looked at the others but the price was more than I could afford. I have Burris signatures on my 300 RUM for over 400 hot loads with no trouble. I like the off set bushing. I am building a new LR gun with a custom action so maybe for that gun.
