With Remington not making their 416 Mag cases anymore, is there any reason I can't make them from 375 H&H brass? I have one necked up and loaded, but I'm afraid when the shoulder "pops" out, it will split.

You can still buy online as many 416 Rem cases as you want, at least in the USA, and this method is of course the preferred an cheaper one...

I have made hundreds of 416 cases out of 375s by passing the 375 cases through the 416 sizing dies and firing starting loads with 350 Gr. Speer bullets for practice. No split necks so far. Alternatively, you can fireform the sized (using your 416 dies...) 375 cases in the usual way...

One thing though, is that the cases turn out to be ca. 1mm shorter than nominal length...

Good luck, Antonio

You should be able to get them for about $45/100. Midway had them for $40/100 last time I looked. Rem made a big batch just last year.

www.blue-star-inc.com has them for $43.50/100 or $377/1000.

Old 4x4,

From Fred Huntington, Jr. @ Huntingtons.com

416 Remington Magnum

22520A 100 Pack $63.25
22520B 250 Pack $143.80
22520C 500 Pack $263.50
22520D 1000 Pack $486.45

Perhaps a tad pricy, but he always has them when you need them. Or at least when I've always needed them.

Speak softly and carry a really big MAGNUM.
