I have a thousand Remington #1 1/2 primers. I intended to use them for a .357 Magnum, but I have conflicting information about which primers to use. I initially found that I needed small pistol primers, then I found in some other manuals that I needed to use magnum small pistol primers. The load variations between the data is minimal. Let me know your experiences or if I should try to return the unopened 1,000 brick of primers. I intend to load for plinking and heavy hunting loads, using Blue Dot and Unique for light loads, H110 or AA #9 for heavy loads. Thanks for the help. Selmer

Reliability is the issue. You should have no problem with your Blue Dot and Unique loads. Free men should not be subjected to permits, paperwork and taxation in order to carry any firearm. NRA Benefactor

I use them all the time for light loads with Bullseye and Titegroup. No problems, Pete "Be kind to your neighbor, he knows where you live."

Powder choice is a major determinant as to which primer, magnum or standard, is used. Be guided by the loading manual. IIRC, H110 likes a magnum primer and Unique wants a standard; don't know about the AA#9 or Blue Dot. Use the primer recommended in your manuals for each individual powder.
