Now that this rifle has been thoroughly tested are we still liking them? Thinking I need a tough little truck rifle in 223.

I like my .223. It's not pretty, but it shoots well.

This is my best group so far, using Hornady 75gr. TAP ammunition and a burris E1 3x-9x scope:

If you're going to bounce over rough roads, secure the magazine with a piece of duct tape.

I have two of the discontinued Stevens 200 rifles in 223 and 243 and both are good shooters.

Savage discontinued the Stevens 200 rifles after they brought out the Axis series rifles.

I assume the Axis was cheaper to make with less machining.

You can go to http://www.savageshooters.com/forum.php and learn more about your Savage.

I was at the range two weeks ago and a guy had one in 6.5 Creedmoor; he was shooting .5 MOA groups with it and he made another guy with a $3000 custom 700, also 6.5 Creed, sort of miffed.
