I only have a few days to develop a load for a new batch of 165gr. Nosler partitions for my 30-06. I just got invited on a special hunt and would love to hunt with these bullets. Do you guys have any special loads that work for you?

Thanks.

If your rifle won't shoot 57.5 grains of 4350 (either IMR or Hodgdon in this case will do) I would be very surprised.

Look no further. 57.5 grains of 4350 will do it...

I checked my data, and agree with 788. My load was 57gr of IMR4350, 210Match primer, shot three round group just at 1" from FC Nickel brass. The velocity was 2942 fps from my 23" barrel. Ku-dude

Well, just check my data and this last two weeks on my Couse Hunt I use the following load 60 gr. of RL19. The load chrono'd at 2976 fps. I am using the Nosler 165 gr. BT. shooting 1" groups.

I have also had good luck with the Hornady 165 gr Interlock and RL15 or H414, both chrono'd at 2934 fps.

Just my .02 worth

Howdy,

Listen to 788, he's giving good advice. My best load is 57.0 gr. H 4350, 165 Nosler BT, WW cases (matched and fully prepped), Fed. primer. Actually, my rifle shoots 55.5 gr. through 58 gr. to the same point of impact, so I chose 57 as a "happy" medium.

Coach

oh ps..... thanks 788 for the load advice

I worked up loads for my son's Rem 721 and my M-98 in 30-06 this past year. We used rem 165 pspcl. For my son's I used rem cases and 61gn RL22 CCI200 primer for 2730fps and .32" group at 100yds. The next group went into .37"! For my M-98 I used win cases and 60gn RL22 for 2770fps and groups around 3/4" for 3 shots at 100yds. My son used these loads to take an Elk and Deer this past fall. The Deer was a one shot kill. The Elk was 250yds running, he held on the front of the chest and the Elk rolled at the shot. It was thrashing around on the ground so he put another one into her. Not bad performance from bulk Rem bullets. I took my deer this year with a .357.

None of my business but, if you guys are cranking in the mid 2900 fps area with 165's you are running pretty hot loads. You might not see signs of pressure--especially with remington brass but you are "warm".
