| I have been using 7828 in my 300 since the early 1980s. It's the only powder that barrel has ever known. In my rifle it's very accurate and the 26 inch barrel produces high velocity, 3154 FPS with a 180 grain Partition.

| ive used alot of re19,22,25 and imr and h4831 and imr 7828 in the 300. they all work just fine and will produce plenty enough velocity in that case. Its more of a matter of which load my particular 300 shoots best with. I have one load with 165 ballistic tips and re19 that is kind of an accuracy standard load for me as ive never found a 300 mag that didnt shoot it well. I wont give out specific loads but its a standard load out of a loading manual. |

| IMR-7828 does quite nicely in the .300 Winchester. Don't get too worked up over "temperature sensitivity". That phrase was coined by advertisers, not chemists or ballisticians.
While I happen to use RL-25 in my .300 Winchester, I do use IMR-7828 SSC in my .300 H& H and find accuracy and velocity to be outstanding. The two powders are not interchagable, but what one will do the other generally will, also. I do like the consistency of metering with the short cut versions of IMR powders. |
