So I was pulling a ton of bullets for my 30-06 last night and got some of the two powders used mixed together. I've heard this can be bad, but don't want to throw it away if I don't have to the two powders are IMR 4350 and H4831. It's the 4831 in the 4350. Is this safe to use or am I better off torching it? 7mm. guy shoot straight or shoot often.

I agree. While in theory a slower powder added in won't raise pressure. You have the issue of load development. Your old 4350 loads would not work. YOu would need to work up a load for the mix. Then even more key is the mix even. More than likely the burn rate would vary from load to load. Use it as a lesson learned and toss it. As usual just my $.02 Paul K

Keep it and mix it with peanut butter. The mixture, if put in ANY rodent path or hole will rid your area of unwanted vermin. The rodent cannot vomit, so the powder acts like a blood thinner and they bleed to death internally.

Thanks guys, I fgured that would be the case, but thought I'd double check. These make for a real neat and extremely intense fire. (Not my first time) yep I'm a bright one. 7mm. guy shoot straight or shoot often.

If it is just a small amount throw it out. If it is many pounds of it I would work a load up for it.

If it were mine and there was a lot I would thoroughly blend those two powders and use the reduced 4350 load data as a starting guide. roger Old age is a high price to pay for maturity!!! Some never pay and some pay and never reap the reward. Wisdom comes with age! Sometimes age comes alone..

If it wasn't more than a pound or 2, why bother, it's much more fun to light it off and watch it burn.

Thanks guys while the varmit things sounds interesting I'm trying to concoct some kind of chain reaction usingonly element from the reloading bench. Here's what I was thinking: fire a primed brass (flare might reach the muzzle) onto a paper towel douced in one shot case lube leading to the mound of powder. Sounds like quite the experiement. 7mm. guy shoot straight or shoot often.
