I recently loaded some 8x57js worked up a load with 51gr. of VV150 and a Nosler 180gr. ballistic tip. It seems to be accurate but I don't have a chrono. to clock the speed. Any one out there have any idea what kind of vel. I could expect?

My load notes say 2600-2700 fps for that combo. It's a good powder for that cartridge.

Looking at my notes I agree with Mats. you should be 2600 to 2700fps. With a Remington 185gr bullet and 51.3gr VV150 I get 2689fps

No one locally sells Vihtavori powder. Is it about the same price as Hodgdon, Winchester and IMR?

I bought mine at a gun show here in Texas for $38.00 for a 2lb. container. Slightely more expensive than IMR that I normally use. Wanted to try something different and am very satisfied with the results
