Depend on age and manufacturer. New OWS RWS stuff has boxer primers. [Big Grin]

thanks guys. i was thinking about ordering a few boxes of .577/.450 M-H, but I'd hate to spend that kind of money on something that i can't reuse.

The .577-450 that I have from OWS is CBC (Brazilian) 24 ga shotshell brass with berdan primers. Since they also sell Bertram brass you might also get Boxer. The Berdan primer is no big problem, but the CBC primers are for shotgun pressures, and the RWS rifle primers are of dubious availability stateside.
The Martini Henry brass generally requires an aggressive annealing regimen.
I usually load mine schtzen-like without sizing.
Cheers from Darkest California,
Ross
