Nobody ever accused me of being a gunsmith. So, let’s start there. Mod 70 PF rifle. Loaded up some Cutting Edge Ballistics 420 gr raptors. They will not feed, the nose jams up entering the chamber, before the shell even fully clears the rails. Left side or right side of mag. Doesn’t matter. Standard length COAL of 3.250 Is this a common issue with these bullets? Before I even loaded them, I wondered how well they would feed with that profile. Unfortunately, I have no other ammo to test feed in this gun at the moment.

Try following their table under the technical tab. For the 420, the bullet projection should be 0.750". Defined as "The bullet projection length is the distance from the SealTite Band® to the tip of the bullet". In a Montana 458 Lott, I have tried longer and shorter. They don't feed, but at 0.750", like grass through a goose.

I got the load data and length from CEB. If they are that picky, I’m going to try something else. I don’t need a potential jam in my magazine. I had someone else contact me and mentioned they won’t feed for him either in a couple of his hubs.
