Hi, Just bought a CVA Scout in 45-70 and would like to know what reloading data I should use with this rifle, as you may know most reloading compagny advertized 3 reloadings level: old trap door action , lever action like 1895 Marlin and strong action like Ruger #1. I have a Ruger #1 that I reload since many years and for sure I will not use these reloads. I would like to know what you think. Thank you

That is the level I would load to.

Since they chamber it in a bunch of other cartridges including .444 Marlin, I think PD has it right. I didn’t see any magnum rifle rounds to say up to the Ruger #1 level. It’s probably going to be a handful even at that level.

The Marlin level is what I reload in my Contender handgun. Has worked for 30+ years. No sense stressing your gun. Larry Rogers

I Just got info from BPI the CVA owner and they told me to use lever action load for the Scout with no problems at all. Thank you

save a couple bucks and use 2400. you'll find your recoil limit with it easy enough at the middle loads.
