Gentlemen, thanks for all of your help. I purchased a box of Federal Power-Shok 150 grain .270 Win rounds on Friday and took rifle and ammo to the range today. I only managed one shot of the factory ammo, which left the bolt stuck so tight again that I needed to use a cleaning rod to force it open through the bore. MV was 2,717 ft/s, so much lower than the advertised 2,830 ft/s. So now I know; the rifle is defective and possibly even dangerous. I will contact the dealer tomorrow. Not sure at this stage what my recourse will be. Bummer is that if they replace the rifle or barrel I am in for a 4 - 6 month wait again. Very frustrating after having waited 18 months for the license! I know the Mark X Zastava is an entry-level rifle, but surely this is unacceptable? Any speculation as to whether it may be a 'sloppy' chamber, head space or possibly even the bore? Cheers, Scott. | |||
