Going to try and limit my powders down to about 3 kinds, wide range of bullet weights, any suggestions?

I don't know about the 6CM but if I were limited to one powder for the .243 I would have to pick IMR4350. All my best accurate loads for 85, 90 and 100 grain bullets use it exclusively.

I like H4350 (41.5), IMR7828(45), and RL22(44). RL 26(47.9) is supposed to get up to 3200FPS with 100gr bullets, so I'm anxious to try some this spring. As for bullets, 70gr BT's for varmints and 95gr BT's for game, as well as the 85gr Sierra BTHP Gameking which is one of the best shooting and cheapest bullets you can get, for punching paper as well as hunting, and also the 90gr Gamechanger which is almost the exact same bullet with a tip.

IMR4350, IMR4831, H4350, IMR4451. For the 243 win.

What bullet weights are you shooting? The previous responses are very good for heavyweights, but if you are shooting 70 grain and under projectiles, I would consider Ramshot Big Game. My .243 loves it with 70 gr Speer TNT and Nosler Varmageddon bullets. It seems to prefer flat base to boat tail bullets. Bullets are pretty worthless. All they do is hang around waiting to get loaded.

There is a good way to make that choice. You need a powder that has been around long enough have a LOT of data for many bullet weights and many cartridges. For the .243 I have been using IMR 4350 for 50 years. I also use it in the 6mm Remington, .25-06, 6.5X55, .30-06 and others.
